Course Overview

The Hospice Executive Certificate Program (HECP) uses a case study approach for hospice administrators and senior managers that have at least a minimum of three years or more of administrative experience.  Popular with business schools, this program enhances the basic information you have learned in your current role, or perhaps while attending the intermediate Hospice Administrator Certificate Program (HACP).  Each day offers you opportunities to listen to an expert in the field of strategic, financial and legal issues.  You will then move on to the actual implementation and analysis of each particular topic.  This engaging format allows for point/counter-point discussions with expert speakers and your hospice colleagues throughout each day.

The HECP is a three module curriculum:
1. Advanced Hospice Strategic Positioning: Now You Know What To Do; How Do You Do It?
2. Advanced Financial Management: Now You Have the Strategies; How Will You Finance them?
3. Advanced legal Considerations: Now You Know Strategies and Financing; What are the Related Legal Issues?

Program Learning Objectives
  • Identify and implement specific strategies to position your organization for growth and development
  • Understand the legal implications of selected strategies and how to assure your legal counsel has the right experience to help you achieve your goals
  • Implement strategies to change directions if strategic, financial and/or legal problems arise
  • Identify key budget items and how to analyze the financial risks and benefits of specific hospice strategies
  • Educate board and staff on the importance of selected strategies, financing and legal considerations for future positioning and success of your hospice organization
