SESSION OVERVIEW
Description
New staffing requirements place greater emphasis on aligning clinical resources with patient needs. This session reviews nurse staffing ratio requirements, patient acuity systems, documentation expectations, and operational planning. Participants will learn how to implement staffing models that support both compliance and quality patient care.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Explain California's hospice nurse staffing ratio requirements.
- Describe the components of an effective patient acuity system.
- Apply staffing methodologies based on patient acuity.
- Identify documentation necessary to support staffing decisions during surveys.
