PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Preparing for a hospice survey requires more than understanding the regulations—it requires building a culture of compliance, operational excellence, and continuous survey readiness. This comprehensive workshop will provide hospice leaders with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to confidently navigate California's evolving regulatory landscape.

Participants will receive the latest updates on California's Hospice Emergency Regulations, learn what surveyors are focusing on during inspections, review common deficiencies and Plans of Correction, and gain practical tools to strengthen compliance across their organization. Through expert guidance and real-world best practices, attendees will leave better prepared to manage surveys, reduce risk, and lead their organizations with confidence.

  • Plan of Correction (2567) - Responding to condition and standard level deficiencies. Implementing correction plan.

    Kathy Ahearn, RN, BSN, PHN, holds dual bachelor’s degrees in nursing and social work and has over 30 years of experience in Hospice, Home Health, and Palliative Care. As CEO and founder of ALECC, Inc., she provides consulting, leadership mentoring, and tailored education focused on regulatory compliance and best practices. Kathy is nationally recognized as an educator and resource for her expertise in agency assessment, survey readiness, leadership training, operational improvement, and strategic planning. Her work supports agencies and state associations in navigating and simplifying complex regulations to achieve optimal outcomes through practical, firsthand guidance.


    CANCELLATIONS

    Cancellations are subject to 30% handling fee. There will be NO REFUNDS issued for cancellations received within 10 business days prior to program. Cancellations must be in writing. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. However, substitutions will be allowed. Should CAHSAH® cancel the program, a full registration fee refund will be issued.


    CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

    Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP17394) for seven (7) contact hours of continuing education. Continuing Education report will be issued to attendees once attendance has been confirmed.
