Call To Action
Medicare Proposes More Cuts for Home Health
CAHSAH is calling on all providers to speak out on the devastating cuts that are proposed in the CY 2026 Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) Rate Update. All providers are essential to our advocacy efforts. CAHSAH has been working closely with our national partners, the National Alliance for Care at Home and have actively engaged with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Congress to voice concerns that CMS must reconsider its methodology for calculating payment adjustments. CMS must implement policies that support a stable home health benefit while ensuring that payments accurately reflect the rising costs of care. The specific needs of homebound Medicare beneficiaries must be of utmost importance.
We need your agency to electronically submit your comments to CMS before August 28, 2025. Every agency is crucial if we are to show CMS that enough is enough! After multiple years of cuts, home health agencies have reached their breaking point. The estimated cumulative effect of these home health cuts will reach $25 billion.
These continued cuts are:
- undermining patient access to vital care
- jeopardizing the long-term viability of the Medicare home health benefit
- unsustainable and have led to agencies closing
- eroding access to care for vulnerable people who rely on care at home
We encourage you to address the specific rising costs of providing care that your agency has faced, such as recruitment, retention, training, travel costs and supplies (just to name a few).
Instructions to Submit Comments:
