Message from the Chair | November 2025
Happy November to everyone. That means the holidays are officially upon us. Time for re-connecting with acquaintances and time for gifts. I am excited to say that CAHSAH has been lucky to do both early in the season. CAHSAH has been able to reconnect with a former acquaintance / employee and receive the great gift of a new President and Chief Executive Officer. I am so excited to announce that Soua Vang will be returning to CAHSAH as the new President and CEO on November 10th. Soua has a varied background that will enable her to be a strong leader for CAHSAH. She has a long history of program development, fiscal management, strategic planning and delivering sustainable outcomes.
Soua is returning to CAHSAH after being gone for 12 years. Soua had been with CAHSAH, serving as the Director of Education until 2013. In that position, she managed CAHSAH’s education and training programs, the certificate programs and CAHSAH’s annual conferences. She also secured a large grant for CAHSAH to develop an online Personal and Home Care Aide State Training demonstration program. Most recently, she was with LeadingAge California and prior to that, was with the California Pharmacists’ Association. In her previous position with LeadingAge, she secured a very large state grant for The Gateway-In Project to build a workforce pipeline in long-term care.
Soua is committed to the advancement of CAHSAH, CAHSAH’s education programs and membership. In Soua’s own words, she “understands the importance of innovation, fiscal discipline and member-driven solutions”. In addition, she understands that being the new CAHSAH President involves advancing advocacy and fostering strong relationships with CAHSAH members and policymakers.
The CAHSAH Board of Directors is excited to have Soua Vang return to CAHSAH in the leadership role, bringing a wealth of experience with her. Please join the CAHSAH Board and the CAHSAH staff in welcoming Soua back to CAHSAH.
And I do want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I know we have much to be thankful for at CAHSAH.
