Happy April CAHSAH Members!

I am delighted to share with you a recap of the recent Town Hall Meeting that took place on March 13th in San Diego. The event was a tremendous success, with a wonderful turnout and active participation from our membership and non-members.   It was truly inspiring to see so many dedicated individuals come together to discuss important issues and share valuable insights related to home care, home health, and hospice services in California.

The Town Hall Meeting provided a platform for open dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing amongst the group.  We had engaging discussions on a wide range of topics, including best practices in home care and hospice, regulatory updates, workforce development, and the future of home care services in our state.

The diverse perspectives and expertise shared during the meeting were truly enriching and reflective of strength and unity. We were fortunate to have two active CAHSAH Board members in attendance.  Thank you to Lauren Reynolds with At Home Nursing Care and Brittnei Salerno with La Jolla Nurses Homecare, who shared their vast expertise with the group. Special thank you to Dean Chalios, CAHSAH President and Michele Lander, CAHSAH Director of Operations, “my travel buddies”, for sharing critical updates with our group and helping to register new members! During this event we were able to welcome 4 new agencies to the association. A BIG thank you to those who joined the event. I am so happy you found value in our Town Hall Meeting.  Be on the lookout for our next Town Hall Meeting – we would love to see you!

As Chairperson of CAHSAH, I want to emphasize the importance of being an active member of our association. By participating in events like the Town Hall Meeting, you not only can stay informed about the latest developments in home care and hospice, but also to connect with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, and contribute to the advancement of the services we provide in California. If you are not currently a member, trust me, you need to be.  If you would like to join, please call Michele Lander and she will make sure you are taken care of.

During the event I had the privilege to meet so many new members and reconnect with long time partners, we bounced ideas off each other and have been collaborating ever since. Thank you!

CAHSAH plays a vital role in advocating for the interests of home care, home health, and hospice providers, and patients and promoting quality care standards, and fostering a supportive community for all members. Your involvement and engagement are crucial in shaping the future of our services and ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional care to those in need. I encourage each and every one of you to take advantage of the resources, networking opportunities, and educational programs offered by CAHSAH. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients, our patients, our communities, and our industry as a whole.

Thank you to all who attended the Town Hall Meeting and contributed to its success, and to our vendor partners who without their help this meeting could not have happened…Heffernan & Associates Insurance, and Viventium Software, your dedication and commitment to excellence in home care are truly commendable.

I look forward to our continued collaboration and growth as an association.  I am eager to meet you during our virtual Lobby Day on April 9 and at our Annual Conference in Rancho Mirage May 21-23.

Respectfully submitted,

Elaine Flores
