As Yogi Berra once said, It's deja vu all over again!  A month ago, I never thought I'd be back at CAHSAH.  It's been a busy first month!

We developed and submitted comments on two important federal regulations:  the 2026 Medicare PPS proposed rule and the proposal to restore the companionship regulation.

We're very focused on increasing CAHSAH membership to give CAHSAH more resources to advocate for Home Care and Hospice.  We debuted our 17 for 12 membership campaign.  And we're asking CAHSAH members to help us recruit new members by approaching your colleagues and making referrals of potential members to CAHSAH staff for follow up.

Education has always been one of CAHSAH's strengths.  We just finished offering our Home Care and Hospice Administrators Certificate Programs in Las Vegas.  We had 102 attendees,  And we are planning a new program in late October on Financial, Quality and Strategic Management under the Medicare PDGM system.

It feels very good to be back at CAHSAH even if it will be a relatively short stay.  I hope CAHSAH members will reach out to contact me at 916-890-4780 or jhafkenschiel@cahsah.org.
