Message from the Chair | June 2025

Posted By: Julie Lehmann Bulletin,

Well, we are into June and Memorial Day is over.  That means it must be summer.  But I wanted to take the time to reflect on the great CAHSAH Annual Conference and Expo at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort and Spa, which ran from May 19 to May 22.  It was once again a fantastic event.  There was something for everyone.  We had great speakers who addressed topics of interest for home health, hospice, home care and general topics for everyone.  CAHSAH also offered continuing education units for those who needed the credits for their licenses. There were over 40 sessions on all topics that attendees could choose from and over 45 speakers.  I heard from several attendees that they truly appreciated the high quality of the sessions and the information they received.

I want to take time to say thank you to the event sponsors:  Heffernan Insurance Brokers, Ona Care Technologies, AlayaCare, Viventium, HospiceMD, HealthCare Synergy, Inc., Axxess and ShiftCare.  We could not have had such a great event without them.  Again, thank you!

Tuesday at the Conference, the Awards Luncheon was held.  During the lunch, CAHSAH presented the Home Care Service Award, the Lillian O’Brien Home Care Supervisor Award, the Physician of the Year Award, and the Lois C. Lillick Award.  It was so refreshing to see such dedicated individuals from the care at home industry receive these awards.

Wednesday evening there was a CAHSAH PAC event.  The PAC event helps to support the voice of home care in the California legislature. I want to also thank the sponsors of the PAC event:  Corpay, Kan Time, Maxim Healthcare Services, Rod Windley of Aveanna Healthcare, Dean Chalos, CAHSAH President & CEO, and S&S Home Care Consulting, LLC.   It was a fun evening of pizza, duckpin bowling, arcade games, and beers.  Everyone had a chance to spend the evening relaxing with everyone away from work.

I also want to recognize those on the Education & Conference Planning Committee:  Committee Chair Tricia Smith, and Committee members Brian Michaelsen, Grace Spencer, Elaine Flores, Brittnei Salerno and Lia Smith.  These hard-working individuals put together one of the best conferences in recent years.  Thank you.

But the biggest thank you goes to the CAHSAH Staff who did so much work in putting the conference together: Dean Chalios, President/CEO; Kristine Fitzpatrick, CFO, Monica Chapman, Executive Assistant to the CFO / Registrar, Michele Lander, Director of Operations, and Mary Adorno, Legislative Specialist.  They put in a lot of hours to make this event what it was.   And finally, thank you to all who attended   This is your event each year. I was so excited to see so many attendees and meet many of you.  I hope to see everyone next year. And happy summer.

Respectfully submitted,

Julie Lehmann
